What Have I Been Up To?

What I've been listening

A gift from Auntie Sandra, this CD is hilarious! A fun way to learn and remember classical pieces I call this my "Rescue" music. Lots of catchy tunes and since we do not have a DVD player in the car, the stories and songs in this cd more than make up for the lack of visuals.

What I've been watching
This is my latest Diego DVD. Now i know more about river dolphins and whales than my mommie and daddie! Do you know how many teeth a whale shark have? Answer: 3000! Now that i know the story, i think i will be able to appreciate the ballet performance more when i watch it on Oct 1

What I've been snacking
I've been hearing barney sing about "macaroni and cheese" but never ate any until we found this at Jacobs. Love the thick cheesy sauce but the portion per packet is a tad too little. To make it more tasty, add in a scoop of butter and some milk. YUM!! We found this at our favorite japanese supermarket. The portion is just right for a kid. Love those bits of colourful fishcakes in the shape of pandas, doggies and cats.

What I've been playing
This is my latest toy - a memory game. I've played it a couple of time with Mommie and it seems like my memory ain't that good. Hmm... Mommie bought this from Mother Garden to add on to my restuarant set. We got a bakery set for Maya's birthday too!

What I've been reading (or rather, what mom and dad has been reading to me)
I took this book out of my bookshelf and asked Daddie to read it to me. He wonders if i've been feeling the tremors too. But... i'm not telling them! heh! Mommie's telling me all about Korea so that i can better appreciate the place when we are there. Woopee! I'm looking forward to a white christmas!

Where I've been going
The night safari! We absolutely love the ranger's station where i get to touch porcupine quails and feel the rhino's skin. I'm still waiting to see the sloth bear though. During our last visit, the bear was hiding and no matter how much noise the zookeeper made, it refused to present itself to us. Better luck next time! My el cheapo parents didn't want to spend money taking me to the chinese garden this year. So we settled for FREE lantern viewing along Chinatown and the Riverwalk. I can identify with the 嫦娥 and 后羿 lanterns, coz 孙老师 has been telling us about their stories. For me, i'm content with carrying my barney lantern.. Hey before you think i'm not keeping up wth traditions by carrying chinese lanterns, Mommie says Barney is a dragon too.. albeit an Ang Mo one

Counting and Reality

Mommie: "Joey, if you have 20 lollipops and mommie eats 1, how many would you have left?"

Me: "19...."

Mommie: "How abt if i eat one more, how many do you have left?"

Me: "18...."

Mommie: "What if i take one more? How many left?"

Me: "17 ....."

Mommie: "And, i want to eat one more. How many left?"

Me: *gasp* "Your teeth will drop off!!"

Lonely

I told my mommie and daddie this in the car yesterday.

*puts on sad face*

Me: "I feel all alone in this family...."
Mommie: "But why, Joey?"
Me: "Coz i'm the only little one in this family. I'll like a sister or a brother"

*pouts*

There was no response from mommie and daddie.. i wonder if they got my message.

Joey 101

Some little random facts about me

Fact 1 - Pets
I keep a brood of over 15 fluffy toy pets whom i've named personally. There's Buckachiya the giant seal, woofy the shaggy dog, tikus the 小老鼠, Kitty the floppy cat..... and more! They take turns to go on holiday with me except Buckachiya who is too big to fit into the suitcase.

Fact 2 - The number crunch
I can do addition and subtractions up to 20. I can count mentally for any sum up to 10. But anything more and i will need to use my toes and fingers.

Fact 3 - Feet to walk
I have over 30 pairs of footwear, some of which i've only worn once ot twice. Whenever my feet grows out of it, they are passed over to my one year old Auntie Rainee who is fast catching up with me in the SIZE department.

Fact 4 - What's in the Name?
My name is Joey because my folks wanted a simple name associated with Joy. Many of my friends thinks that Joey is a baby kangeroo but actaully a baby koala is also called a joey. In fact, all baby marsupials are called joey, which means, i share the same name as baby possums too.

Fact 5 - Birthday
I was supposed to come to this world on 13 January 2004, but decided that i wanted to see the world sooner and so I squeezed my way out of mommie's tummy on 30 December which coincided with cousin Nikkolette and uncle Clifton's birthday.

Fact 6 - Baby Ballerina
I started learning ballet at 2.5YO and was the only ballerina who wore a bulky diaper under my leotards.

Fact 7 - Rolling off a bed
I was a grumpy baby until i rolled off mommie's bed and fell splat on the floor like a lizard. I was only 2 months old then but something "clicked" during the fall and I started smiling more and became more cheerful!

Fact 8 - Nicknames
Some nicknames i'm known by - Yummy Potato, Jojo circus, Jojo Pudge, Pudgey Dora

Fact 9 - Liar Liar, backside on Fire
I told my first lie on 14 September. I burst into tears when Daddie found out that i was lying. He wasn't really upset though and promised to teach me the ultimate skill of lying without being found out! (*mommie rolls her eyes*)

My Idols Are Coming to Town!

Woohoo!! Mickey Mouse and Gang are coming to town for a magic show. Mommie and Daddie have already gotten me tickets to see them "live" in action (without skates, finally!). Wonder if i'll get to see Darby, Tigger and Pooh too. I've not missed a single episode of "My friends, Tigger and Pooh" since it's first broadcast.

So, my dear Mickey and friends, see you at the Indoor Stadium on 23 Nov!
