No Holiday!

Excerpts of conversation with Mommie last night

Mommie: Joey, have you told Sati to pack your bags for our holiday?
Joey: Nope, I'm not going.
Mommie: Why?
Joey: *frown* Japan has strong winds that will blow people away!
Mommie: Huh?! Who told you that?
Joey: Ah Mah
Mommie: HMMMMMM........ *BIG FROWN!*

Going to the Zoosey Zoo

On our way to the zoo last sat, the sky threatened to pour on us.

Hey! After waiting 1 whole week for this outing, the last thing we want is for the rain to pour on us and quash our plans. As a desperate measure, Michelle, Isabel and I resorted to some unorthodox methods to try and chase the rain away. First we tried blowing real hard... but, it didn't work. Then, we started made scary faces and noises, hoping to scare the clouds away - AND... it didn't work either. So our final resort was to chant "rain, rain go away! rain, rain go away" and guess what? It's worked! The rain stopped just as we got into the carpark. Hooray!!

We trooped in to the zoo like cheerful bouncing beans with only 1 target in mind.... the children's playground! There, we had a splashing good time blasting water at each other. Then, we stormed to the playground conquering it like it belonged to us. And, after a quick shower at the really stinky toilet, we dived into the bubble bowl, "swimming" amidst the balls, staging a shark attack!

We were famished after our hearty play and wolfed down buckets of chicken, cheese fries and milo! The meal was real satisfying... yummmm. (side note: daddie claims that the KFC here is the best in singapore!) By the time we filled up our tummies, it was already 6pm and the zoo was preparing to close.

But hey!! We've not seen enough animals yet. So, the three of us have decided that we shall make a return trip to the zoo this sat! *ehh... i am already hearing protests from daddie and mommie.

Little Miss Scatterbrain and my answer to WHY

WHY? WHY? WHY?

One day, Daddie got really irritated with my incessant marathon of WHYs and asked me, "Hey, why do you keep asking me why!!??"

Unfazed, i replied "Because, my name is J-O-E-WHY"

Little Miss Scatterbrain

I've been a little miss scatterbrain lately, losing things and forgetting where i've last placed them. Just over the weekend, I've lost my new bracelet, one side of my sandal, my little paper purse and.......... my barbie doll toothbrush.

How I lost my barbie doll toothbrush was really a freak accident! I was holding on to my toothbrush and waiting for daddie to finish his "business". Then, just as daddie was lifting his bum bum off the bowl, i lost grip of my toothbrush and it flew right into the toilet bowl!

Before i could even shout to get daddie's attention, he flushed! And, right before 3 pairs of eyes, my precious toothbrush spiralled down the cistern and disappeared into the sewage highway, never to be found again :(

Play Pretend Fun!

My cousins' house is like a treasure cove of toys! Yesterday, I met up with them again and we decided to do some play pretend. And, out came 2 big boxes filled with all sort of costumes and accessories! We had a lot of fun putting them on and pretending to be a mermaid, a police officer, princesses and even a bear! Come Sat, we will all be heading to the zoo for some animal fun... we are going to pretend to be animal rescuers just like Diego! Stay tuned, as next week, I'll bring you updates on the Khor cousins' "Animal Rescue Adventures!".

Farewell to Indogal

Indogal went back home to be with her mommie yesterday. I put up a brave front at the airport and didn't shed a tear (I can't say the same for mommie though - she was crying buckets!). I gave her a big big hug and a kiss, then waved goodbye to her.

Indogal is going home to continue with her hairdressing course. Hairdressing has been her passion and it was unfortunate that she had to quit halfway through her course coz she had ran out of money - that was when she decided to come to Singapore to work. After 4 years, she has finally saved enough to continue with her course and she hopes to be a boss of a hair saloon someday.

We have lots of fond memories of her. To me, she is my caregiver, my playmate, my hairdresser, my fashion consultant. Someone whom i shared a very close bond with. She took good care of me since the day i was born.

To mommie, she was the perfect confinement lady. The one who knew how to prepare her herbal bath, what confinement dishes to cook and helped to look after her baby. Though Indogal may not be perfect at housekeeping, she was no doubt the best caretaker of her precious baby - that's me! Indogal was also one of mommie's favourite shopping companions. She was able to spot great bargains and often gave mommie good suggestions on what to buy. In more ways than one, Indogal was not just a maid, she was mommie's friend, mommie's greatest helper.

As for Daddie, he'll miss all the nice dishes that Indogal could whip out and how, she would meticulously pack his hockey bag with all items he needed.

Indogal's presence will be sorely missed by everyone in the family but we are nevertheless happy for her. Ah Kong has offered her return trips to Singapore for a holiday and visit me! I hope she takes up the offer, coz we will all be very happy to see her again!

Milkaholic

I had a bout of tummyache and vomitting this morning. I think my tummy couldn't quite agree with the milk Sati prepared for me. At the advice of the doctor, I am to refrain from taking milk for 7 days! Sigh... I'm already showing signs of withdrawal symptoms!

I don't know why, but these statements keep swirling in my mind..

"I can't have milk for 7 days, right? Daddie??"
"There are 7 days in 1 week"
"No more milk for 7 days"
"Monday, tuesday, wednesday....."

This goes on an endless loop till i doze off to dreamland.
