Pudge on Ice

It's the not first time i've stepped foot into a skating rink.. but it's the first time i've put on a pair of ice-skates and actually skated IN the rink. Yes, i've been a "spectator" for the longest time until yesterday, when Daddie and Mommie - at the spur of the moment - decided to check out the ice skating rink at Kallang.

In the 2 hours that we were there, i experienced what it was like to go from Zero to Hero. From being barely able to move, i slowly (but surely) doddered along and through trial and error, was able to skate independently with a frame after about 30mins! If you ask me, i will tell you that it's a lot easier to ice skate than to rollerblade.

It was such a wonderful family bonding activity, we've decided to go back again today for a second round of skating. Seeing how much i enjoy ice-skating, Daddie bought me a pair of ice-skates and also signed me up for ice skating lessons, which I will start right after we return from our holiday in Adelaide.

Before i sign-off, i'll like to leave you with a video of my first ice-skating experience. Check out my perfect split at the end of the video. Enjoy!

(UPDATE: After another 2 hours of practice today, I'm now able to skate around the rink unaided. No more frames!)

My Jamie, My Sister

Woke up bright and early this morning to see Jamie at Dr Ann's clinic. I've always looked forward to these sessions so i can say a big "Hello!" to my baby sister. This time, Dr Ann gave us a rather clear picture of Jamie. With her little buttony nose and chubby cheeks, Daddie and Mommie thinks Jamie looks quite like me! The only difference is... Jamie is a little on the big side whereas i've always been small and petite.

So here's a picture of my dearest baby sister at 23 weeks old, 600gms and growing well :)

I love you Jamie, can't wait to see you in October!

Reality Bites

We were having a chit chat over lunch when Daddie made a comment which irked Mommie.

Daddie: Do you know that ....bla bla bla
Mommie: Don't be crazy daddie! .... bla bla bla
Me : STOP IT mommie, you married him!

~~a moment of silence, and my folks broke into laughter~~

I think sometimes the adults just need a little reminder ;P

Happy Daddies' Day!

Mommie and I set out to complete a task today - to buy Daddie his well deserved Father's Day pressie. So when Daddie went out for a meeting this morning, we decided that we will sneak out of the house quickly and buy that present for daddie before he comes home.

BUT, i couldn't contain my excitment and blurted out to Daddie later that we are going shopping to get him his "surprise" wallet present! Mommie slaps her head in disbelieve that i've let out a secret AGAIN! And, since the surprise is no longer a surprise, we decided to make it a family shopping trip instead.

He sure is happy with his presents, especially with the hand-crafted photoframe i made for him from recycled materials. Goes to show, love speaks louder than dollar and cents :)

Impromptu Cooking Class

Daddie called up yesterday afternoon to say that he's taking me, fatty gramps and Sati out for a Pizza dinner. But, what he didn't tell me was..... he had arranged for someone to let me have a go at pizza making! It thrilled me to bits as i get to knead the dough, roll it into a flat round base and garnish it with any ingredients i like! I made one little pizza for myself for immediate consumption and a large one with lots of mushrooms and pineapple to take home for mommie (who was -by the way- having a girls nite out with her friends).

When mommie got home, she was surprised to see the pizza i've made for her and she thinks it's the yummiest pizza she has ever eaten! Ah Kong also dropped by late that night just to sample my handmade pizza. He hasn't stopped singing praises of my pizza making skills since.

Here's a picture of the pizza i made with love for mommie.

Spending time with cousins

Daddie said he was never very close to his cousins until I came along. Well, i guess the kids are the binding factor in the family. Now we spend more time together doing stuff or just enjoying one another's company. Last week, Darren and Mabel joined me at my kindergolf class and we went for a swim and a soak in the tub later. Ahh.... simple pleasures in life...

Heading South

It's confirmed. We will be heading Downunder from 24 - 30 June. It's really a last minute decision. My folks couldn't decide on where to go for a holiday before Jamie arrives until about a week ago.

Initially it was a toss between Hongkong, Japan or Hawaii, but all these fell through the cracks when daddie asked mommie the million dollar question"Are you sure you can tahan the heat? These places are well known for their hot summers, you know?".

Then the answer to mommie became obvious, we will head down south to either Australia or New Zealand. However, with Daddie's work schedule, New Zealand is out of the equation coz it'll be hard for him to be away from Singapore for too long, so it was decided that Australia, it shall be!

But where in Australia shall we go???

Daddie : Joey, we are going to Australia.
Joey : Ok.
Daddie : Do you want to visit SpongeBob in Gold Coast or your cousins in Adelaide?
Joey : Cousins!!!

Now, with the airtickets, hotel and car, booked, it's Adelaide... Here we come!

--------------------------------
Some places we will be visiting
---------------------------------

1) Barossa Valley - We are going on a wine and cheese trail.
2) Glenelg Beach - Powdery sand... beautiful beach
3) Hahndorf - To sip tea and soak in the atmosphere of this quaint german town
4) Victor Harbor - To ride on the horse drawn carriage and watch a penguin parade
5) Adelaide Hills - I must visit the Giant Rocking horse which is also a toy factory!
