Metaphors

I've never been very fond of drinking water. So Ah Kong has been teaching me why water is so important for my body. He brought me to the playground and showed me 2 trees. There is this small tree with yellow leaves and almost "balding" and another bigger tree with widespread branches and lots of green leaves.

Ah Kong explained that the 2 trees are different because unlike the big green tree, the small tree hasn't been drinking enough water and taking in enough nutrients, and as a result it hasn't grown much and the leaves have all turned brown. So if i don't eat well and take in lots of water, i will grow up to be like that small ugly tree.

He gave me a choice and asked which tree i want to be when i grow up? Well, Ah Kong, I want to be the lush green tree, of course!

Vroom Vroom

I've sort of outgrown my freebie bicycle and Daddie thought it's time i learn to cycle on the real mc coy! So, off we went shopping for my new set of wheels yesterday and I rode home on this (that is....... from the void deck, into the lift and to our doorstep).

Mommie got a new sets of wheels too..... but she didn't ask for them though. It was Daddie who insisted on getting them for mommie despite her thousand and one "reasons" why Daddie should save the expense. But alas! It was a lost cause, so here's presenting mommie's swanking K2 wheels.

Though my new set of wheels are not quite vroom vrooms but I think Daddie's hidden agenda is to make mommie exercise harder and perhaps someday he'll turn her into a va va vroom?

-------------------------- side story -------------------------------

Shhhhh....I think Daddie was motivated to help mommie shed some kilos after this episode....

Daddie: Joey, you are not eating your lunch. Look how skinny you are! You've got to eat more so that you'll grow big and fat.

Me: *looked at mommie with big round eyes* - Like you??

Mommie: *speechless* ??????

Sorry, there will be no pictures for this post because.....

My folks and Ah Kong took me to a persian restaurant for dinner last night and it was there i met prince charming....... 4 year old Basi who is the son of Daddie's Iranian client. Daddie had apparently asked his client to bring his son along to entertain me, so that the adults can have a peaceful dinner and enjoy their reds and whites.

Well, Basi was a great host.... he (with the help of his auntie jolly) took me on a romantic bumboat ride down the singapore river. The nightview of the singapore skyline was spectacular! Mommie enjoyed the ride too.

YES!!! mommie tagged along and was the megawatt lightbulb! BUT even then, it was nothing compared to the blinding lights that came from some tourists' cameras! Instead of pointing their cameras at the poignant statue of Sir Stamford Raffles or the iconic Merlion, their lens were focused on..... ME! Gosh.. I didn't know that i've become a tourist attraction myself!

Being a good singaporean that I am, I played ambassador - albiet a junior one - and gave them my most plasticky smile and almost robotic wave..... surprisingly, my less than perfect smile and half hearted wave could thrill my overseas "audience" so much, they couldn't stop showering compliments on me. What a strange bunch of people!

At the end of the ride, i was so bedazzled by all the bright lights coming from tall buildings and (more so) the cameras, i thought i was seeing stars........

So, sorry guys! There will be no pictures for this post coz Mommie didn't want to blind me further with flashlights coming from her own camera!

Alphabet Soup

Ever wonder what I do at night with Mommie and Daddie? Well, sometimes we do silly stuff like pretend to be animals, shadow play or engage in simple activities like reading a book or watching Disney Playhouse together.

Other times, we will invent our own games and the latest we've come up with is a game we call "Alphabet Soup". This game is simple but can give us hours of fun. All we need is a bowl, some magnetic alphabets and a soup spoon.

First, we'll pretend that the magnetic alphabets are pasta and stir them into the imaginery soup. We'll make up a song as we stir along and when the song stops, we'll fish out an alphabet "pasta" and think of words that start with that letter. We'll take turns to come out with a word until someone can't think of one anymore - and that someone has always got to be ME! )

Hmmph... i'll brush up on my vocabulary and practice phonics more.... Daddie, just you wait. Someday, i will beat you at this game!

Back from Beijing

Hello everyone, I'm back from my holiday in Beijing! At this trip, I did some really fun stuff like...

Flew a kite at Tiananmen Square (mommie bought kites for all my friends at Etonhouse too!) Pretended to be a princess (and lived like one throughout the trip)
Indulge in sugared fruits (they are really yummy!) Bought lots of souvenirs for everyone (Do you like this hairpiece i chose for Daddy?)

Climbed the Great Wall of China. Yay!! I finally saw the real thing!

So what are my thoughts of this holiday? This picture will say it all!

More great memories here!
